At the University of Denver, we've been chasing the goal of student employment as professional development since 2020. There is a lot we can do centrally, but we know that supervisors often make the biggest difference in student employees' experience. Our answer to student-employee supervisor preparation and empowerment is the Supervisor Learning Cohort, where supervisors train and build community to holistically support their students' growth. We'll share the development and evolution of the program, plus lessons learned for supervisor training on your own campus.

Learning Outcomes

Attendees will be able to:

  • Identify the development needs of supervisors on their campus
  • Build upon existing campus relationships to create a network of supervisor support
  • Explore tools for interactive and engaging supervisor learning experiences
